Goodreads rating: 4.50
Paperback, 364 pages
Published August 27th 2013 by Entangled Publishing
Series: Lux #4
Genre: YA Sci-fi Romance

Daemon will do anything to get Katy back.

After the successful but disastrous raid on Mount Weather, he’s facing the impossible. Katy is gone. Taken. Everything becomes about finding her. Taking out anyone who stands in his way? Done. Burning down the whole world to save her? Gladly. Exposing his alien race to the world? With pleasure.

All Katy can do is survive.

Surrounded by enemies, the only way she can come out of this is to adapt. After all, there are sides of Daedalus that don’t seem entirely crazy, but the group’s goals are frightening and the truths they speak even more disturbing. Who are the real bad guys? Daedalus? Mankind? Or the Luxen?

Together, they can face anything.

But the most dangerous foe has been there all along, and when the truths are exposed and the lies come crumbling down, which side will Daemon and Katy be standing on?

And will they even be together?

 Spoilers from previous books!

Initial reaction: Errmehgerrd!!!!! I can't believe the heart-break and sexiness of this book. I think the final book might actually kill me.

I remember waiting so long for this book to come out, and then I wasn't sure I could start it. After wondering what Katy would be exposed to after getting caught after the raid that didn't exactly go to plan. I felt so bad for Katy; JLA set the stakes pretty high for getting Katy back. We've never seen Katy so hopeless, but she never completely loses her fire, and that made me love her even more. It was Daemon that really surprised me. Well, maybe not surprised, but he was so fierce and unforgiving when it came to getting Katy back. He becomes someone you don't want to mess with, not just Daedalus but the Luxen as well. He's literally willing to risk anything o get her back, no matter what the cost. And then as soon as he gets her back (that's not really a spoiler, it's obviously going to happen at some point), we see a much more swoon-worthy side of Daemon where he showed Katy just how much he missed her and loves her. I think the thing that really drew me to this book is that the two of them never lost their spirit, even when everything seemed hopeless. And, finally, we get to see Area 51! I feel like you can't write an alien series without going to Area 51 at some point. There are other things romance-wise that had me grinning like crazy, and let me just say that you will not be disappointed in that department. It obviously doesn't start out that way since Katy is kind of captured by the bad guys, but it's definitely worth the wait. And that ending! Oh my goodness, I can't handle the cliffhanger! I just bought the final book and will probably get started on it soon. Loved this series, and I totally devoured this installment!

People who enjoy the series! Because if you've made it this far, you might as well finish it off :)
