I'm so very excited to be a part of this tour. Sadly, I got sick in the middle of reading this book and wasn't able to finish it in time for the tour. But I'd still love to tell you about the book, the author, and what I think of it so far!
Goodreads rating: 4.12
Series: MILA 2.0 #2
Expected publication: May 13th 2014 by Katherine Tegen Books
There is no one left for Mila to trust. Except for a boy she barely knows.
But Hunter has no idea who—and what—Mila really is. She can’t bear to reveal her secret, even though he’s unwittingly joined her search for Richard Grady, a man who may know more details of Mila’s complicated past.
Yet the road to the truth is more dangerous than ever. With General Holland and the Vita Obscura scouring the earth for her whereabouts, Mila must rely on her newfound android abilities to protect herself and Hunter from imminent harm. Still, embracing her identity as a machine leads her to question the state of her humanity—as well as Hunter’s real motives.
Perfect for fans of I Am Number Four and Divergent, this action-packed and heart- wrenching second installment of MILA 2.0 will leave readers breathlessly awaiting the series conclusion.
WHAT I THINK SO FAR:
Sadly, I didn't get far. But I didn't want to let the lovely ladies The Fantastic Flying Book Club or the author down, so I decided to talk about what I thought so far. I guess my first thought is that there needs to be more Lucas. Already, I'm pretty much over Hunter. There's no mystery to him; he's literally like a lost puppy dog and MILA is his food bowl. I really think MILA will mature and realize that Hunter is just her latching onto something from her old life before she realized that she wasn't human and is instead a stolen government prototype. Lucas is a huge part of what has become her new life, and although the synopsis suggests that Hunter is not who he seems (which seems a little moot at this point to me, since he's a bit too puppy dog to be sincere), I think MILA will realize Lucas is the right one for her. I'm so tired of picking the guys in the triangles that don't get picked (my main example is the Matched series by Ally Condie; always go for the best friend type, people). But so far, MILA just seems thankful that Hunter is there just after her mom's death. I can't blame her for wanting company after everything that happened, but the whole thing is awfully suspicious! I can't wait to finish this sequel and see for myself if my speculations are right!
I'm the author of the MILA 2.0 series and the owner of the messiest purse on the planet, aka: the black hole of doom. I think bow ties are cool and when I grow up, I want to be Veronica Mars. I rarely check my account at Goodreads, so if you need to get in touch with me, try twitter or Debra at debradriza.com.
