Tempt Me Thursday (18)

Tempt Me Thursday is a feature created here at The Reader's Antidote, and it's basically like Teaser Tuesday on sexy YA steroids and then a synopsis of my current read.

Oh my goodness, you guys, I just finished Cress (the third book in the Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer), and it was AMAZEBALLS!!! Like, seriously, I don't know how these books continue to be so good. This moment is from the end of the book, and it is a moment that has been a long time coming (nearly three books to be more accurate). This quote is from the ARC.

Bending his head, Kai pressed his lips to her knuckles. The plating had no nerve endings, and yet the touch sent a tingle of electricity along her arm.
"Cinder?"
"Mm?"
He lifted his gaze. "Just to be clear, you're not using your mind powers on me right now, are you?"
She blinked. "Of course not."
"Just checking."
Then he slid his arms around her waist and kissed her.
Cinder gasped, pressing her palms against his chest. Kai pulled her closer.
Seconds later, her brain began registering all the new chemicals flooding her system... Leaning into him, Cinder sent the messages away. Her hands tentatively made their way to his shoulders, before stringing around his neck.

Sigh... So many feels. This wasn't the only couple that had one of these moments in this book either. There's always the perfect amount of romance in these books! And now, for my current read!

In this sequel to OF POSEIDON, Emma has just learned that her mother is a long-lost Poseidon princess, and now struggles with an identity crisis: As a Half-Breed, she’s a freak in the human world and an abomination in the Syrena realm below. Syrena law states that all Half- Breeds should be put to death.

As if that’s not bad enough, her mother’s reappearance among the Syrena turns the two kingdoms—Poseidon and Triton—against one another. Which leaves Emma with a decision to make: Should she comply with Galen’s request to keep herself safe and just hope for the best? Or should she risk it all and reveal herself—and her Gift—to save a people she’s never known?

What's tempting you this Thursday? Let me know in the comments!
