Angelfire Read-Along Official Kick Off + Sign Up

Ok, so this is the official kick off day for the Angelfire Read-Along! I told you guys about it around this time last week and why Momo from Books Over Buys and I decided to do this read-along! This post is more about the technicalities because something this awesome is also super complicated (although we're going to do our best to not make it seem that way!). You can check out the post from last week that has more information about the book and the author HERE.

As a short recap, though, he's a little about the series:

My reviews of Angelfire and the sequel, Wings of the Wicked.

First there are nightmares.
Every night Ellie is haunted by terrifying dreams of monstrous creatures that are hunting her, killing her.

Then come the memories.
When Ellie meets Will, she feels on the verge of remembering something just beyond her grasp. His attention is intense and romantic, and Ellie feels like her soul has known him for centuries. On her seventeenth birthday, on a dark street at midnight, Will awakens Ellie's power, and she knows that she can fight the creatures that stalk her in the grim darkness. Only Will holds the key to Ellie's memories, whole lifetimes of them, and when she looks at him, she can no longer pretend anything was just a dream.

Now she must hunt.
Ellie has power that no one can match, and her role is to hunt and kill the reapers that prey on human souls. But in order to survive the dangerous and ancient battle of the angels and the Fallen, she must also hunt for the secrets of her past lives and truths that may be too frightening to remember.

More about the author, Courtney Allison Moulton:

Courtney Allison Moulton lives in Michigan, where she is a photographer and spends all her free time riding and showing horses. She has always loved reading about ancient mythologies, studying dead languages, and telling scary, romantic stories.

So the #1 rule of this read-along is that you need to sign up on the linky list that's near the end of this post. All you need to put there is your name and either the URL of your blog or your Goodreads page! The other rule is really basic: no cheating. When you fill out the Rafflecoptor, don't lie and say you did something when in reality it's a link to something else or a false name. Momo and I will be checking any winning entries to make sure they're legitimate.

That's the end of the serious stuff! Now, here's how this whole thing is going to work:
  • The read-along will run from November 29th (that's today!) to January 29th, which is when the final book in the series, Shadows in the Silence, comes out.
  • We will have two posts per week, one on Monday, and the other on Friday. Now this is where it gets a bit complicated, but we're going to guide you the whole way.
    • Monday: This post (which will start on my blog on the 3rd) will let you know what chapters you need to read that week via the read-along schedule and we'll have a discussion question for you to answer. Upon answering that question in the comments, you can then be entered into the monthly giveaway, which will be a copy of Shadows in the Silence (in December, it will be a preorder, but in January it'll get to you as soon as we order it). This giveaway will be filled out through a Rafflecoptor.
    • Friday: Now this post will be slightly different. This one will start on The Little Reapers. We'll remind you what chapters you needed to finish by this time. We'll also post our answers to the discussion post from the beginning of the week. Then, we're going to post six trivia questions for that week. Answering those questions will get you entries in the grand prize giveaway, which is a signed set of the trilogy! If you get all six of the questions right, we'll send you some swag. This will also be done with a Raffecoptor.
    • These posts will all make sense once we start them, so don't worry if you're confused. Each week, Momo and I are going to be switching off who does what post. For example, if I post on Monday, then she will post on Friday. The following Monday, she will post, and then I'll post on that Friday. Don't worry, we'll tell you where to go!
  • So, as a short recap, answering the weekly discussions will get you an entry to win a copy of Shadows in the Silence. Those giveaways last one month and there will be two of them. Answering the weekly trivia quizzes will get you multiple entries (depending on how many questions you answer plus whatever extra entries on the Rafflecoptor) into the grand prize giveaway of the complete set of signed Angelfire books.
  • In order to do all this, you need to sign up!! Do so here:

Start spreading the word! Here's the official read-along button (I'd like to say a special thanks to Giselle at Xpresso Reads for designing this gorgeous button and the banner at the top as well!):

The first chapters you'll need to read will be #1-8. Technically we don't start until next Monday, but it helps getting ahead of the game in case you run into some outside issues during the read-along.

As I said in the intro sign-up post, Momo and I really just want to get the word out about this series. I'm surprised every year that it doesn't get the recognition it deserves, and both Momo and I know how seriously amazing this series is! I think one of the issues she and I both run into is that no one's read them, so we have no one to vent to about the tantalizing unfairness of it all and how Courtney Allison Moulton insists on ripping our hearts out more with each book. Which honestly has become a big problem, at least for me. So we created this read-along so that people can finally have a place to discuss this series now that they've read it. And believe me, you won't regret it!

If you have any questions, please e-mail me (which you can find under the about me tab) or @ me on Twitter (probably the better option to get a speedier response, which can be found on the sidebar). Momo's contact info can be found on the blog. I know that this is all a bit confusing, but like I said it'll all make sense when we get into the swing of things! I hope you guys are excited as we are for this read-along!

Don't forget to sign up and then come back here next Monday!!

I always appreciate comments and cherish every one of them. THIS IS AN AWARD-FREE ZONE. I don't have the time to fulfill the requirements for the awards, but thank you so much for thinking of me. I just ask for no vulgarity, and if you have any issues with my reviews or writing style, please e-mail me instead of commenting. Now, vent to your heart's content!
