June Wrap-Up

This month has been pretty insane! I was the designated blogger for the Fierce Reads tour stop at Mrs. Nelson's Toy and Book Shop. It was such a blast and all of the author's books are amazing. The winner for the giveaway has already been chosen, but if you have the money, definitely get your hands on copies of these:

Of Poseidon (Of Poseidon #1) by Anna Banks
Shadow and Bone (The Grisha Trilogy #1) by Leigh Bardugo
Struck (Struck #1) by Jennifer Bosworth
Cinder (The Lunar Chronicles #1) by Marissa Meyer
Monument 14 (Monuement 14 #1) by Emmy Laybourne
Life Undecided by Jessica Brody

And as you know, I went to ALA this year. It was only a couple hours away from me, so I drove every day down to Anaheim. It was such a blast, but extremely tiring. And I got to meet a few fellow bloggers and a few friends. They made it way worth the trip. I met with some publicists, and met the person that contacted me about being the designated blogger in person! She is so sweet and I'm hoping we'll get to meet sometime again.

I was again on a couple blog tours and I went to some signings. For school, I ended up getting an A in Philosophy (such a surprise, seriously) and English, and a B in Stats and French 3. All in all, I'm pretty proud of myself. This was also my last semester at community college, and while I've built up relationships with some of the teachers, I'm glad not to be going there anymore. I know that school will be getting harder now, but the good thing is that I've done most of my general ed classes, so I should be focusing more on English classes.

Also, I am really and truly done with my book (it'll never be perfect) and I've written up a draft of a query letter and I've researched agents. I want to send out e-mails maybe sometime this week and hopefully I will get a good response! Of course, I will let you all know when (notice I say WHEN) I get an agent and a publisher and a contract and happiness!!

REVIEWED

READ

Of Poseidon (Of Poseidon #1) by Anna Banks

Struck (Struck #1) by Jennifer Bosworth

Monument 14 (Monument 14 #1) by Emmy Laybourne

Rapture (Fallen #4) by Lauren Kate

For Darkness Shows the Stars by Diana Peterfreund

Insurgent (Divergent #2) by Veronica Roth

Unravel Me (Shatter Me #2) by Tahereh Mafi

Again, I'm totally sucking on reviews. I think I've gotten so caught up with all the covers coming out this month that I forget to do reviews. I also blame ALA. Although, I technically have reviewed Of Poseidon and Monument 14, it just wasn't during June.

ALA Annual Conference at the Anaheim Convention Center [RECAP & TIPS]

I know this one doesn't come out until February of next year, but I was able to get a copy of it at ALA and already read it, and it is phenomenal! I wasn't sure how Tahereh's writing style would hold now that Juliette isn't as crazy, but she broke my heart a thousand times.

These books have always had gorgeous covers, and after the first cover, this one is my favorite. I also really enjoyed reading this final installment of the series.

Jeremy from Struck by Jennifer Bosworth

This was one of my favorite books of the month as well, but I absolutely loved Jeremy. When we're introduced to him, he's the creeper outside her house. But we come to find out that he's taken it upon himself to protect her. We also find out that there's more to him than meets the eye. Also, Mia and Jeremy had some pretty hot scenes together, so that helped. He is so sweet and unsure that you can't help but love him.

How was your guys' month? Let me know in the comments!
